On February 17, 2026, the Holland Law Firm filed a motion seeking court approval of a settlement with Monsanto of all current and future claims arising from exposure to Roundup® causing non-Hodgkin Lymphoma (NHL). This historic filing seeks to finally bring to a close over a decade of litigation regarding claims that Roundup® causes NHL.

Holland Law Firm’s Eric Holland and Patrick Dowd have served as lead negotiators on behalf of all future claimants who are diagnosed with NHL.  Holland describes the settlement program as “a terrific method for resolving the tens of thousands of claims now in the system and certain to come in the future.”  The settlement program calls for Monsanto to make annual payments for 17 to 21 years after court approval so that not just current claimants are paid but also future claimants, a feature that Holland points out is critical. “I believe this settlement solves a pressing set of problems for current and future claimants, the courts, and the defendant”, Holland said.

In a class action, the plaintiffs who file the lawsuit act as “class representatives” and sue on behalf of themselves and others with similar claims.  This group of people is called the “class,” and its members are called “settlement class members.”  One court resolves the issues presented for all class members, except for people who follow the instructions to exclude themselves from the class.

Plaintiffs and Monsanto agreed to a settlement to avoid the significant risks of continuing to fight in court. Specifically, Class Counsel and the Class Representatives recommend this settlement because of two major risks that could result in you getting zero money if the lawsuits continue:

  • The “Preemption” Risk: The U.S. Supreme Court could rule that federal law prevents (preempts) these lawsuits entirely because the EPA has approved Roundup’s labels. If this happens, most claims would be dismissed.
  • The Bankruptcy Risk: Monsanto faces financial difficulties that could lead to bankruptcy. If the company goes bankrupt, you could face years of delay and receive little or no money at all.

Non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma, also known as NHL, is a type of cancer that starts in white blood cells called lymphocytes. Lymphocytes are part of the body’s immune system that help it fight infections and other diseases.

  • NHL, including Hairy Cell Leukemia and Aggressive NK-Cell Leukemia.
  • Any leukemia that contains the words “lymphoma,” “lymphocytic,” or “prolymphocytic” in its name under the World Health Organization Classification of Tumours – Haematolymphoid, Volume 11 (revised 5th Edition (2024)).

  • Hodgkin’s Lymphoma.
  • Multiple myeloma.
  • Leukemias that do not have “lymphoma,” “lymphocytic,” or “prolymphocytic” in their names.

You are included in the settlement if you meet all the following criteria:

  • You are a U.S. citizen or a non-U.S. citizen who was living in the U.S. on the date of Preliminary Approval.
  • You had contact with, inhaled, ingested, or absorbed Roundup® products in the U.S. before February 17, 2026; AND
  • Your exposure happened because you:
    • Applied the products yourself;
    • Purchased or paid for the products or their application;
    • Participated in, directed, or saw the application of the products; or
    • Otherwise had reason to know you were exposed.

Note: The United States includes all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, Guam, American Samoa, the U.S. Virgin Islands, the Northern Mariana Islands, any other U.S. territory, and U.S. military or diplomatic establishments worldwide.

  • You are a judge or court staff assigned to this case;
  • You are a current or former officer, director, or employee of Monsanto or any of its subsidiaries (as of the date of Preliminary Approval);
  • You only watched someone else apply Roundup® products and did not know they were weed killers;
  • You have already settled your claim with Monsanto and signed a release;
  • Your claim was previously dismissed by a court with prejudice (permanently); or
  • You have a claim pending in the federal MDL (In re Roundup® Products Liability Litigation, MDL No. 2741) as of the date of Preliminary Approval. However, if you dismiss your MDL claim, you may request to join this settlement.
  • You were exposed to Roundup and are alleging injuries other than NHL.

If you have already been diagnosed with NHL:

  • You must submit a registration form to the Administrator within 180 days after the Court grants final approval of the settlement (earliest deadline is the date of Preliminary Approval).
  • You must also submit a full Claim Package (medical proof) no later than 180 days after the Effective Date (the date the Settlement becomes permanent and unchangeable after any appeals are resolved).

If you are diagnosed with NHL in the future:

  • You do not need to submit a registration form.
  • You must submit a claim package within six years of your NHL diagnosis (and before the 16th year of the settlement).
